Do you want to explore San Francisco by foot? Tired of your usual routes, but want to stay in the city? Do you sometimes think "there have to be some great places to run in this city"? Well, you're right, there are, and we're going to run them. This group is for those who love to run, and also would like to explore SF and learn some new go-to routes. There are so many hiking groups, but I wanted to start a group for runners like me that prefer to run the trails than the streets.
Our mission is to help you enjoy the sport of social group hiking. We want to help you hike and explore the Sacramento region as well as hike and explore state and national parks throughout Northern California. We are mainly a social hiking group. If you are interested in learning the sport of hiking or social group hiking, an outdoor lover who wants to take time from your busy life to get out in the woods, experience waterfalls, wildlife, amazing views, and meet new people...you belong in this …
This group is meant for people who have wanted to explore the Bay Area Ridge Trail (the BART) or who just enjoy hiking and need an excuse. Since our hikes are normally in the 10-12 miles range with elevation gain, some hiking experience or at least a reasonable fitness level is expected of you to join us. BEGINNERS PLEASE CHECK THE “ABOUT” MENU FOR ADVICE. To incorporate another passion of mine, I will also be attempting to know the rocks or geology of the BART. I will write-up little “Geology …
For those who love to run, but only have time to get out at night! For people who can handle the cold and fog...and werewolves and monsters. Bring a flashlight and come out! We can play it by ear and run a different trail every week and play games on and off the track. Meet at Kezar track at 8PM on the scheduled day and message me if you have questions.

These mission-to-mission walks are open to all who enjoy nature, art, history. And walking. Though many of the walks are between 16-22 miles, they're set at a reasonable pace and are easy to train for. Why'd You Start the Group? Long story short: In March 2011 I walked 330 miles of the Camino de Santiago, a 1,200 year-old pilgrimage route in Spain. I lived with very little for 3 weeks. I experienced nature, art, and history. I met people from all around the world on the same simple quest - to r …

Closer to home, we can always schedule shorter trips up or down the coast to the wealth of win …

This group is for anyone interested in hiking, biking, outdoor adventure, and good wine. All skills levels are welcome and there will be activities geared for various fitness/skill/endurance levels. Being an orgainser for several other groups I've decided to start my own, so we can combine more activities and have more fun. For people looking to meet other local cyclists for rides all around the greater San Francisco Bay Area, explore new trails, share training tips, etc. Please be advised that cycling is a dangerous sport and you are solely responsible for your own safety. Our rating system: Beginner - 5-15 mile rides led by experienced cyclists who are able to offer instruction. Each ride begins with an equipment check …

I'm starting this group for SF-based riders who want to share rides to various trails (e.g. Tamarancho, China Camp, Annadel, Skeggs, Wilder Ranch, Henry Coe, etc.), mostly for weekend rides, but I would also like to do some group after-work weekday evening or night rides in the area. There are already several Bay Area mountain biking meetup groups (and I belong to most of them) but I thought it would be good idea to have a resource for SF-based riders to use to organize rides starting form SF or …
This group is an attempt to bring people together who are either new to the city, or are locals but don't have a social circle anymore to hang out with. San Francisco has a lot of things to offer from and this life is too short to get bored. So, if you are a student/professional in your 20s or 30s in the bay area and have been wanting to check out that restaurant/movie/hiking trail or have been wanting to go to that concert or jam regularly with some amateur musicians or wanting to pick up tenni …
Why hello, prospective new Nomad. More than a year ago, Mark & I started this group hoping to make a few new friends to enjoy all of San Francisco's cafe's and parks. We now have more than a handful of regulars, a few decafs, and a couple tea-drinkers joining us for the sunshine. Now that we sort of know what our group is all about, this is 'us', and who we hope to be someday: We're mostly 25-45y.o. folks who live in the city. A few of us know a lot about coffee, one of us even knows many of th …
Do you bike in the city? Do you want to bike in the city? Do you have friends who want to bike, but don't know where to start? We need you! We are a loosely organized volunteer group planning a series of accessible, non-competitive rides though urban San Francisco to give people a taste of every-day biking in the city. You won't find a lot of spandex on fancy bikes here, or a throng of angry anarchic riders a la Critical Mass, we're mainly just regular bike riding folk. Here's what we envisio …
