Stevens Creek Striders Running Club is based in Cupertino, California. It has about 50 members residing in and around Silicon Valley. This is a group for fit hikers. While the trails aren't dangerous, they are usually very steep. Trail shoes of some sort will make your hike easier, though hiking boots aren't typically needed. Ideally our hikes will be 1 1/2 - 3 hours long, including significant elevation gain. Ideally at least 1500'+, and be 5-11 miles long. The Monday night, after-work Hike! Every Monday night at 6:00pm, Fremont Older Open Space preserve. Meet at the Prospect road entrance parking area. FOOSP has nice views of the south bay. Our usual trail climbs up through a forested valley to a grassland and then loops around a wooded ridge trail, with a break at hunters point if time permits.
