And by the way, feel free to send ideas for trail runs my way. I would love nothing more than to have some of these runs be someone else's favorite route.

Mountain biking is best when with friends who ride at a similar pace, yes? You've seen the hot shots who zip up hills and flash descents. You’ve seen the opposite, newbies struggling both uphill and down. Then there are the fit-but-inexperienced mountain bikers, rode mostly asphalt before, strong on ascents but not fond of switchbacks and rocks. Then there is us! We enjoy riding technical features on trails, fun rocks and other tricky stuff … we just need a little more time getting up the hill. …

… Most of the trails we run require at least 33" tires and a lift, having lockers would be even better. As well, proper high altitude camping gear is a necessity for several of the summer and early fall trips. If you don't have rig mods, then just hang tight for the trails that are lower on the rating scale and fine for stock clearance and in the meantime we will help you mod up. No matter your rig, if you are cool, don't mind getting dirty, being in the middle of nowhere, and have a zest for ad …

… Depending on the trails selected, we may have a few snowshoeing hikes. For all winter and spring hikes, YakTrax, Microspikes or other traction devices are strongly recommended. Even after many days of unseasonably warm weather and weeks since the last snowfall, the non-south-facing trail sections can still have a lot of unexpected ice and can be very precarious. Prices range from $20-$60 for the various products, and it is money well spent! The YakTrax Walkers for $20 at SportsAuthority or RE …
