I wanted to start up a leisurely bike riding group, around 10-12 mph pace that starts in the mid-afternoon, for those who aren't early risers. Helments are opptional; I don't wear one. All rides will start and finish on Portland's eastside. This is not a gung-ho riding group like the Wheelmen. You can show up in jeans and a t-shirt and you will fit right in! I do not consider myself the 'leader' per se; just an organizer. Group input is welcome too; to suggest an area that you would like to ride …

Welcome to our tribe! We are a range of riders from first treads to hammerheads, and from kids to those who will never grow up. We believe that all trails in life should flow, roots and boulders add character to the ride, every journey could be an epic one, and a little sweat on the ascent will blow off as the rubber takes flight from the dirt. Just follow the safety rules, be courteous, show up for rides you responded "yes" to, and have fun.
This Meetup group is for people who don't hike in 'mission mode'. We don't drive through to the finish line, we stop and smell the roses. This is a great group for people who for health reasons need to take it a bit slower, or for people who want to stop and ID plants, or read trail signs, listen to birdsong, take photos, declaim poetry, contemplate color. One bit of advice: Always check the Meetup site the morning of the hike you've signed up for to see if there are last minute changes.

We are a tough and motivated group of women with a passion for mountaineering, backpacking, kayaking, mountain-biking, and rock climbing. We have some experience and a good deal of athletic ability; we seek bigger challenges and are not afraid of the rain. We never miss an opportunity to bask in the splendor of the mountains that surround us or to enjoy the company of the friends we meet along the trail. We are a community of adventurers and organizers, with every member having the power to plan …
As I create sacred space here in the stillness at Rawprincess Studio I find the clutter is emerging from deeper and deeper layers. As I release all that is not my soul's calling and willingly release mistaken identities and beliefs, my own power from deep inside is literally being pulled up and out. Until I am turning myself inside out. I have suspended yoga slings called Om Gyms here. I have space to do yoga. We have trees and a trail to Washington Park and on into Forest Park. We are doing a m …

Does music thrill you? Is your heart a flower, dripping petals everywhere? Is there a feeling you get when you look to the west? Do you wish you were one of the Van Trapp children, skipping through the Alps singing a merry song? Oh, Good! I found you! I'm starting this group because I love to exult in the beauty of nature, sing on the trail, swim in creeks, and recite poetry, and I need some company. If you're a reverer of nature, come on a hike with me. Woo-hoo! Let's Howl.
